Whitewater, Wisconsin 53190 Groups of rats were treated with atropine sulfate during early pregnancy. This neurodepressive drug was consistently effective in causing implantation to be delayed when
administered early on Day 3 of pregnancy. Human chorionic gonadotropin reversed the
effect of atropine causing implantation to occur at the usual time. The results indicate
a neural influence over the time of ovoimplantation.
